After we have you setup with the software, working with the basics and starting to play around by yourself we need to get you finding your rhythm and inspiration.
The great thing about digital music production is you can make pretty much anything. And the fact that you'll be promoting it online means you'll find someone somewhere who likes it.
This bit is going to be largely down to you. You need to know what kind of thing you want to make and how far you want to go with it. You can always change in the future but it doesn't hurt if you know what you want to start with.
I'm going to throw a few examples at you here and it's purely just to show you some of the diversity you can make for yourself.
Here's an example of some dubstep made within GarageBand.
Something else you can do is grab some well known music and remix it. I've always been a bit of a part time gamer which means I'm a sucker for old school video game music being remixed.
And heck just to really throw it out there - how many of you think "violin" and then instantly think "dubstep"?
This example is a little different but I just wanted to show you the kind of thing which is out there and you can really make it your own. I can't teach you how to play the violin but I can teach you how to find your own beat and make the music which suits you.
After we get you making your own music and start to throw some more advanced training with the software at you we'll move on to promoting your music online
